Stampede

Feeding the herds this afternoon. For the most part they are all gentle, with the exeption of one of the Brangus bulls. He is NOT nice!  They all come running when called. We just pore the 'cattle cubes' on the grass in a long line. They line up and eat.
Had some great looking calves hit the ground this winter. We will sell off the bull calves and cull heifers this summer.

Spring Fever

The Yard

Really I should live on a farm, as should those wild jungle 'things' (aka my kids). Always trying to figure out how to fit everything I would like to do, have in/on  this 1 acre.
Now I share that space with 6 hunting dogs (Walker Hounds), 7 chickens (auction mutts), and 2 children. There is a man here to, he tries to stay out of our way, for the most part. The house sits up front, back yard is fenced for the dogs, front yard is fenced for the chickens, west side of the yard hhhmmmm is still empty. Let's see if I can fix that!
GARDEN should be there. Maybe?
I would rather the garden be off the back porch...think I can keep the dogs out of it? From there it can be seen from the kitchen window, where a garden should be!  Trying the raised bed square foot gardening this year, along with the 'global bucket' system. Today we are making our newspaper seed pots. Will post progress.
